Elfte Elfte um Elf Uhr Elf

Today is rememberence day in Canada. A very sad, and sombre day where we remember the fallen soldiers from WWI and II.

In Germany, however, its the start of Fasching (Carnival).

It's very early in the morning here, and I'm on my way to Cologne. My exchange buddy, Kurt, lives there. I have heard word that at 11.11 at 11:11 the city shuts down and erupts with parties.

I do find it strange that I'll be drinking in a city that was bombed out heavily during the WWII.

I don't have much time as I have to catch my train. I'll post again with some pictures and updates on my adventures.
