update

again, its been way too long since i updated this thing. Im not sure exactly why Ive been lazy with this thing for these past couple months. Maybe it's just cause nothing really spectacular is happening. I have alot of work with school, a large majority of my international friends are leaving or have left already, which has made for a somewhat sombre month.

But let's see, what have I been up to? Well, my hand healed very nicely, I have a slight scar on my index finger, but besides that, Im good to go. I was in Amsterdam again to meet up with an old friend, Jon Maharaj. We spent the week on bikes, riding around, getting lost, and doing what people do in Amsterdam... ;)

Well, going to Amsterdam leads into a good story, i suppose. I had my first couchsurfing experience. I posted a while back about it, but have not had the opportunity to actually give it a go and see what its all about. So I emailed a guy in Amsterdam about having him host me for the week and he was free. Now, Im fairly certain that I got crazy lucky because this guy was so organized and welcoming, I couldn't help but feel lucky. Not to mention him giving me a set of keys for the week, he also hooked me up with a cheap place for bikes, a cell phone with prepaid minutes on it, maps, guidebooks, his museumcards, ... I'll stop there. It was fantastic, not only did I not spend a cent on accomodations, but I got all this great stuff as well.

So he was a dude, and Im all over this couchsurfing thing now. In fact, I have a couple from Turkey coming here in about a week to stay with me. I'll be sure to post about that once its all over.

On a sadder note, my camera broke AGAIN!!! I mean, its all under warranty, but its a giant pain in the ass to send it back to Casio and have them fix it and send it back. Last time, it took almost a month to get it back, only to have it break with the same problem in less than a month. If this keeps up, I will have to start getting angry. For now, it's just a nuisance.

And on a very sad note, a good friend of my brother's died in a motorcycle accident a couple weeks back. I've known this kid since he was young, and it was a shock to all, so my thoughts are with his family and all of his friends back home. RIP Kevin.

That's about it for now. As i said, its been a strange and rather boring month.
